Bobby Valentine was one of the best managers and he was the 16th manager for the Mets. Bobby was a great player for the Mets, he played for the Mets from 1977-1978. Valentine proved that he was a great manager for the Mets. He was the manager of the Mets from 1996, he got the job with just 31 games to go into the season after replacing Dallas Green. He lead them to a 12-19 record going all they way. In 2000 he got the team to the World Series facing the New York Yankees. But they lost. In 2002 he got fired by GM Steve Phillips since they did not get along.
